A Day in the Life
You oversee the daily operations of an automotive service workshop — allocating jobs to technicians, managing workflow, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring customer vehicles are completed on time.
- Assign incoming service jobs to technicians based on skills and availability
- Monitor job progress and intervene when work falls behind schedule
- Review completed repairs for quality before vehicle handover
- Support technicians with technical guidance on complex repairs
- Manage workshop safety compliance and housekeeping standards
- Liaise with service advisors on job status, delays, and additional work
- Track parts requirements and flag shortages to the parts department
- Mentor junior technicians and assess training needs
