A Day in the Life
A Quality Assurance Manager in the Textile industry ensures that all garment products meet international quality and safety standards before export. This involves developing and implementing QA strategies, managing a team of auditors, overseeing testing, and collaborating with production and design to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Assurance strategies and procedures.
- Lead and manage a team of QA officers and auditors.
- Oversee all stages of garment production, from raw material to finished product, for quality compliance.
- Ensure adherence to international quality standards (e.g., AQL, ISO 9001) and buyer specifications.
- Manage and review all fabric and garment testing procedures and results.
- Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to prevent and resolve quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management and clients.
Work Environment
Works in a hybrid environment, splitting time between an office for strategy and reporting, and the factory floor/labs for oversight and problem-solving. It's a demanding role requiring strong leadership and meticulous attention to detail.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 6/10 · COMMON overtime
Can involve long hours, especially during critical production phases, client audits, or when resolving major quality issues. Requires dedication and flexibility.
