About This Role

Developing digital learning materials and e-learning courses.

A Day in the Life

You create digital educational content for online learning platforms, EdTech companies, or educational institutions — including video scripts, e-learning modules, assessments, and interactive learning materials.

Research and write educational content aligned to specified learning objectives
Script video lessons, explainer animations, and tutorial content
Develop e-learning modules using authoring tools (Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate)
Create interactive activities — quizzes, drag-and-drop exercises, scenario simulations
Collaborate with instructional designers, video producers, and subject matter experts
Review and edit existing content for accuracy, clarity, and instructional quality
Upload and test content on LMS platforms (Moodle, Coursera, Udemy)
Adapt content for different learner audiences (school, university, professional)

Remote or hybrid work for an EdTech company, online learning platform, or educational institution's digital learning team. Sri Lanka has a growing ecosystem of EdTech companies including local startups and offshore development teams for international EdTech clients. Online content developers may also freelance for global platforms such as Udemy, Coursera, and LinkedIn Learning.
