A Day in the Life
You install, commission, maintain, and repair mechatronic systems — automated machines that combine mechanical, electrical, and electronic/software components — in industrial and commercial settings.
- Install and commission automated machinery and robotic systems
- Diagnose faults spanning mechanical, electrical, and PLC/software domains
- Replace faulty components — servo drives, sensors, pneumatic actuators, encoders
- Calibrate sensors and feedback systems after repair or replacement
- Read wiring diagrams, pneumatic schematics, and PLC ladder logic programs
- Update PLC programs or HMI screens for minor modifications
- Perform preventive maintenance on automated production equipment
- Document faults and repairs in the maintenance management system
