About This Role

Creates makeup looks for weddings, photoshoots, TV/film productions, and events. Bridal makeup is a major revenue stream in Sri Lanka. Freelance career common. A Day in the Life

A Makeup Artist's day involves consulting with clients, understanding their vision, preparing skin, applying various makeup techniques, and ensuring the final look is flawless and long-lasting for events, photoshoots, or productions.

Consult with clients to understand their desired makeup look and occasion
Prepare skin for makeup application (cleansing, moisturizing, priming)
Apply foundation, concealer, contour, highlight, and blush
Create eye makeup looks (eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, false lashes)
Shape and fill eyebrows, and apply lip color
Ensure makeup is long-lasting and suitable for photography/lighting
Clean and sanitize makeup brushes and tools after each client
Build and maintain a professional portfolio and social media presence
