Their day involves planning transportation, managing warehouse operations, optimizing distribution networks, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery. It's a highly dynamic role requiring constant problem-solving and coordination.
- Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments
- Resolve any problems or complaints that may arise
- Supervise, coach and train logistics workforce
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
Work Environment
A fast-paced, often high-pressure environment, split between an office for planning and administrative tasks, and warehouses/distribution centers for operational oversight. Involves constant communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
