A Day in the Life
You teach Logic and Ethics (also known as Philosophy) at A/L level in government schools, developing students' critical reasoning, ethical analysis, and philosophical thinking skills.
- Plan and deliver A/L Logic and Scientific Method and Ethics lessons
- Teach formal and informal logic — deductive, inductive reasoning, argument analysis
- Cover ethical theories — utilitarianism, Kantian ethics, virtue ethics, and applied ethics
- Prepare students for A/L Logic & Scientific Method and Ethics examinations
- Design essay-based and structured response assessment tasks
- Guide students in philosophical discussion and debate
- Mark examination papers with rigorous attention to argument quality
- Participate in subject-specific in-service education (NIE) workshops
Work Environment
A/L classroom at a government school, predominantly serving Arts stream students. Logic and Scientific Method and Ethics is an A/L subject within the Arts stream in Sri Lanka, alongside subjects like Economics, History, Geography, and Political Science.
