  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned to the multi-country business model
  • Ensure compliance with employment law across all operating jurisdictions
  • Manage international assignments, expatriate policies, and cross-border transfers
  • Oversee multi-country payroll coordination with local HR and finance teams
  • Lead talent acquisition for senior cross-border and regional roles
  • Design compensation structures that reflect local market data in each country
  • Handle complex cross-cultural employee relations and disciplinary matters
  • Report to Group HR Director on international HR scorecard and risk

Regional or group HR function role with multi-country scope. In Sri Lanka, International HR Managers are found in large conglomerates with regional operations (Aitken Spence, John Keells, Expolanka), multinational subsidiaries (Unilever, Nestlé, Fonterra), international NGOs (UNICEF, WHO, UNDP), and global BPO operations. Significant international travel and cross-time-zone stakeholder management.
