Internal Audit is for disciplined, analytically sharp professionals who want to be the organisation's independent eyes and conscience. If you find genuine satisfaction in finding where controls fail before they fail expensively — and you can communicate uncomfortable findings with diplomatic precision — this is one of the most stable, institutionally valued, and globally transferable careers in the Sri Lankan financial and corporate sector.

About This Role

Evaluates an organization's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes to improve efficiency.

A Day in the Life

Independently assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the organisation's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes — providing objective assurance and advisory services to senior management and the Board Audit Committee.

  • Plan and execute risk-based internal audit assignments across all business functions
  • Review financial and operational controls for design and operating effectiveness
  • Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, and potential fraud risk indicators
  • Conduct interviews with process owners and test controls using sampling techniques
  • Prepare detailed audit working papers and evidence documentation
  • Draft audit findings reports with risk ratings and management recommendations
  • Follow up on management action plan implementation for previously identified findings
  • Contribute to the annual internal audit risk assessment and audit plan preparation
