A Day in the Life
A Fleet Maintenance & Service Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of a vehicle fleet, from scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs to managing a team of technicians. The day involves inspecting vehicles, ordering parts, optimizing service schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all fleet vehicles
- Oversee vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repair operations
- Manage a team of mechanics and service technicians, including scheduling and performance reviews
- Source and procure vehicle parts, tools, and equipment, managing inventory
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle performance, and maintenance costs
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and vehicle licensing requirements
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs or services
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, costs, and vehicle history
Work Environment
