A Sustainability / ESG Lead in Fashion focuses on integrating eco-friendly practices and ethical sourcing throughout the garment production lifecycle. This involves developing and implementing sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards, and reporting on ESG performance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability and ESG strategies for fashion production.
- Identify and evaluate eco-friendly materials and sustainable manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with international environmental and social certifications (e.g., GOTS, Oeko-Tex, Fair Trade).
- Conduct supplier audits and manage ethical sourcing initiatives.
- Prepare ESG reports and communicate sustainability performance to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with design, production, and supply chain teams on sustainable solutions.
- Train staff on sustainable practices and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Stay updated on global sustainability trends and regulations in the fashion industry.
Work Environment
Works in a corporate office setting, with frequent visits to factories, supplier sites, and potentially international travel for audits or conferences. The environment is dynamic, involving both strategic planning and on-the-ground implementation.
