A Day in the Life

A Senior Textile Technologist leads the development and improvement of textile products and processes. This involves researching new materials, optimizing production methods, ensuring quality standards, and troubleshooting technical issues in manufacturing.

Lead research and development projects for new textile products or processes.
Optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure product specifications are met.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to fabric defects, dyeing, or finishing.
Collaborate with design, production, and quality assurance teams.
Mentor junior technologists and provide technical guidance.
Stay updated on industry trends, sustainable practices, and new technologies.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and quality control guidelines.

Work Environment

Works in a hybrid environment, splitting time between an office for planning and analysis, a laboratory for testing, and the factory floor for process monitoring and troubleshooting. Can be noisy and require safety gear on the factory floor.
