A Day in the Life

A Sample Room Technician spends their day creating prototypes and samples of garments or textile products based on designer specifications. This involves pattern cutting, sewing, fitting, and ensuring the sample accurately reflects the design vision and production feasibility.

  • Interpret design sketches, technical packs, and patterns to create samples.
  • Cut fabric pieces accurately according to patterns.
  • Operate various industrial sewing machines to construct garments/products.
  • Perform fittings and make adjustments to samples as required.
  • Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to refine samples.
  • Ensure samples meet quality standards and production specifications.
  • Maintain the sample room, equipment, and material inventory.
