A Day in the Life
You lead the design, improvement, and governance of quality assurance processes across a manufacturing or service operation — ensuring consistent standards, driving continuous improvement, and leading a QA team.
- Design and optimise QA process frameworks and standard operating procedures
- Lead root cause analysis and CAPA implementation for process failures
- Oversee process validation activities and approval of validation documentation
- Conduct internal process audits and lead supplier quality audits
- Drive lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives across production processes
- Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers and inspectors
- Report process quality KPIs to the Quality Manager and production leadership
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during major process changes or new product launches
Work Environment
Manufacturing or operations environment combining office-based planning with regular production floor presence. In Sri Lanka, found at Unilever SL, Nestlé Lanka, Brandix, MAS Holdings, and larger industrial manufacturers. Manages a small team of 3–8 QA engineers.
Typical hours: 47h/week · WLB score 6/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
Structured hours with occasional overtime during audit seasons, new product launches, or major process change implementations.
