About This Role
Conducting qualitative and quantitative research to understand user behavior and trends.
A Day in the Life
You gather and synthesise market, user, and competitive intelligence to inform product decisions — translating data and human insights into actionable recommendations for product teams.
- Design and execute user surveys, interviews, and usability tests
- Conduct competitive analysis and market landscape research
- Synthesise qualitative and quantitative research into insight reports
- Maintain a research repository accessible to product, design, and engineering teams
- Analyse customer support tickets and NPS data for product pain points
- Partner with product managers to define research questions for each roadmap cycle
- Present findings to cross-functional stakeholders with clear recommendations
- Track user behaviour trends using analytics tools
Work Environment
Collaborative product studio environment, often within a product or design team. In Sri Lanka, found mainly in tech companies, BPOs, and digital agencies in Colombo. Involves frequent virtual or in-person sessions with real users.
Typical hours: 42h/week · WLB score 7/10 · RARE overtime
Good work-life balance. Research follows structured study cycles, not constant emergency response. Occasional user sessions may require flexible scheduling.
