About This Role

Manages end-to-end payroll processing — salary calculations, EPF/ETF contributions, PAYE tax withholding, overtime, and payslip generation. Sri Lanka's EPF is managed by the Central Bank; ETF by the Employees' Trust Fund Board. Key software: FinancialPro (widely used in SL), SAP HCM, Oracle HR. Accuracy and confidentiality are paramount.

A Day in the Life

A Payroll Manager oversees the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, wages, and deductions while complying with Sri Lankan tax laws (PAYE) and social security contributions (EPF/ETF). A typical day involves processing payroll, reconciling accounts, generating reports, and addressing employee queries.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Calculate and process statutory deductions including EPF (Employees' Provident Fund), ETF (Employees' Trust Fund), and PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax.
  • Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate and distribute payslips, payroll reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Process new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding salaries, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Sri Lankan labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless data flow and reporting.
