About This Role
Designs salary structures, bonus schemes, employee benefits packages, and ensures compliance with EPF/ETF (Employees' Provident Fund / Employees' Trust Fund) requirements. Also manages salary surveys and job grading. EPF (8% employee + 12% employer) and ETF (3% employer) compliance is mandatory in Sri Lanka. Mercer/Hay Group salary survey participation common.
A Day in the Life
A Compensation & Benefits Specialist spends their day designing and administering employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, compliant with Sri Lankan labour laws (like EPF/ETF), and aligned with the company's strategic goals. This involves data analysis, policy development, and communication with employees and management.
- Conduct salary surveys and market research to ensure competitive compensation structures.
- Design and update employee benefits packages, including health insurance, leave policies, and retirement plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) and ETF (Employees' Trust Fund) contributions.
- Develop and implement bonus schemes, incentive programs, and performance-based pay structures.
- Manage job grading and evaluation processes to establish internal equity.
- Prepare compensation reports and present findings to senior management.
- Advise employees on benefits enrollment and compensation-related queries.
- Stay updated on changes in Sri Lankan labour laws and tax regulations affecting compensation and benefits.
