A Day in the Life
A Fish Processing Plant Manager oversees all operations within a seafood processing facility, from raw material intake to final product packaging and dispatch. This includes managing production schedules, ensuring quality control, maintaining hygiene standards, and leading a team of workers.
- Plan and manage daily production schedules to meet demand and efficiency targets
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards (HACCP, ISO) and hygiene protocols throughout the plant
- Oversee raw material inspection, processing (cutting, cleaning, filleting), and packaging operations
- Manage and train production staff, ensuring proper techniques and safety procedures are followed
- Monitor equipment performance, schedule maintenance, and troubleshoot operational issues
- Implement quality control checks at various stages of processing
- Manage inventory of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, environmental regulations, and export requirements
