A Day in the Life

A Fashion Tech / Smart Textile Engineer combines fashion design with engineering and technology to develop innovative wearable products and smart fabrics. Their day involves researching new materials, designing integrated electronic components, prototyping smart garments, conducting testing, and collaborating with designers, material scientists, and software engineers.

Research new smart materials, sensors, and electronic components for textile integration
Design and develop prototypes of smart garments or wearable technology products
Integrate electronic circuits, sensors, and microcontrollers into textile structures
