A Day in the Life
An Export Seafood Technologist ensures the quality, safety, and compliance of seafood products destined for international markets. This involves developing and implementing processing standards, conducting quality control checks, and adhering to global food safety regulations.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for seafood processing, packaging, and storage
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of processing facilities to ensure hygiene and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO)
- Perform laboratory tests on seafood samples for microbiological, chemical, and sensory analysis
- Ensure compliance with international food safety regulations (e.g., EU, FDA, Japanese standards)
