About This Role

Audits the accounts of cooperative societies under the Department of Cooperative Development. Sri Lanka has over 15,000 registered cooperative societies — consumer cooperatives (CCS), multipurpose, housing, and credit societies. Government auditors conduct mandatory annual audits per the Cooperative Societies Act. Diploma in Cooperative Studies or AAT qualification required.

A Day in the Life

A Cooperative Society Auditor spends their days meticulously examining financial records, transactions, and operational procedures of various cooperative societies. This involves extensive fieldwork, visiting different societies, verifying compliance with the Cooperative Societies Act, and preparing detailed audit reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
