About This Role
Ensures passenger safety and service on SriLankan Airlines and Cinnamon Air flights. Requirements: minimum A/L, height 158–175 cm, good English. SriLankan Airlines periodically recruits cabin crew through open applications. SLITHM offers cabin crew training courses. Overseas opportunities with Middle East carriers.
A Day in the Life
A Cabin Crew member's day is centered around ensuring the safety, comfort, and service of passengers on board an aircraft. This involves pre-flight checks, safety demonstrations, serving meals, responding to passenger needs, and handling emergencies, all while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Conduct pre-flight safety checks of cabin equipment and emergency exits.
- Welcome passengers, assist with seating, and stow carry-on luggage.
- Perform safety demonstrations and ensure passengers adhere to safety regulations.
- Serve meals, beverages, and duty-free items.
- Respond to passenger requests and address any concerns or issues.
- Administer first aid in medical emergencies.
- Manage disruptive passengers or security situations.
- Assist passengers during turbulence or emergency evacuations.
Work Environment
Working in a confined aircraft cabin at high altitudes, often across different time zones. The environment is dynamic, requiring constant movement, interaction with diverse people, and readiness for unexpected situations.
