A Day in the Life
A Boat Workshop Technician performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of boats. This can range from hull repairs, fiberglass work, painting, and rigging to assisting with engine installations and general boat servicing.
- Inspect boats for damage, wear, and tear on hulls, decks, and superstructures
- Perform fiberglass repair, gelcoat application, and painting
- Conduct general boat maintenance, including cleaning, polishing, and anti-fouling
- Assist marine mechanics with engine removal, installation, and servicing
