A Day in the Life
A Beach Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and beachgoers. This involves actively patrolling designated areas, identifying potential hazards, performing rescues, administering first aid, and educating the public on beach safety rules.
- Actively patrol assigned beach areas, observing swimmers and conditions
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards such as strong currents, dangerous marine life, or unsafe activities
- Perform water rescues using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Administer first aid and CPR to injured or distressed individuals
- Educate beachgoers on safety rules, warning signs, and local conditions
- Maintain and inspect rescue equipment (rescue tubes, paddleboards, first aid kits)
