A Day in the Life
An Aquatic Farm Supervisor oversees the daily operations of an aquaculture farm, ensuring optimal conditions for aquatic species. This involves managing feeding schedules, monitoring water quality, maintaining equipment, and supervising farm staff to achieve production targets.
- Monitor water quality parameters (pH, oxygen, temperature, salinity) and adjust as needed
- Supervise feeding and growth of aquatic species (fish, shrimp, etc.)
- Inspect and maintain farm equipment, pumps, filters, and aeration systems
- Manage inventory of feed, chemicals, and other supplies
- Oversee staff, assign tasks, and provide training on farm procedures
