About This Role
Develops technologies to recover valuable materials from waste streams, supporting a circular economy.
A Day in the Life
Waste Recovery and Circularity Leads design systems to minimise waste and maximise material recovery — auditing waste streams, implementing circular economy strategies, working with suppliers on sustainable packaging, and measuring resource efficiency across operations.
- Audit organisational waste streams and identify recovery opportunities
- Design circular material flows to reduce virgin resource consumption
- Work with procurement on sustainable supplier packaging requirements
- Implement and manage waste sorting and recycling systems
- Track and report waste diversion, recycling rates, and resource efficiency KPIs
- Engage staff on waste reduction behaviours
- Liaise with waste management contractors and recycling facility operators
Work Environment
Corporate sustainability department, manufacturing facility, or environmental consulting firm. Mix of office strategy and production/site floor visits.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 8/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
