A Day in the Life

VR/AR Developers build virtual and augmented reality experiences for gaming, enterprise training, education, and industrial applications — combining 3D graphics programming, spatial interaction design, and performance optimisation for immersive platforms.

  • Develop VR/AR applications in Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Implement spatial interactions (hand tracking, eye tracking, haptics)
  • Optimise 3D scene performance for VR target frame rates
  • Integrate AR markers, plane detection, and world anchoring
  • Work with 3D artists and UX designers on experience design
  • Test across multiple XR headsets and mobile AR devices
  • Build multiplayer XR networking for social or collaborative experiences

Work Environment

XR studio, tech company, or enterprise training team. Office with XR hardware lab for testing. Remote work available for experienced developers.

Project launch deadlines can extend hours. Generally good WLB in studio environments. Remote global XR roles widely available.
