A Day in the Life

Manage day-to-day field operations of a tea estate division, overseeing plucking, pruning, fertiliser application, and welfare of estate workers in Sri Lanka's hill country.

  • Supervise tea plucking gangs and daily harvest targets
  • Monitor and plan pruning cycles across estate divisions
  • Apply fertiliser and pesticide schedules according to TSHDA guidelines
  • Maintain estate worker attendance, wages, and welfare records
  • Report daily production figures to Estate Superintendent
  • Inspect tea bushes for pest and disease and coordinate with advisory officers
  • Oversee worker housing, creche, and estate facilities
