A Day in the Life

Advise businesses and individuals on minimizing tax liability while ensuring compliance with Sri Lanka's IRD regulations. Work at Big 4 firms, boutique tax practices, or in-house corporate tax teams.

  • Analyze client financial structures for tax optimization opportunities
  • Prepare and review corporate income tax returns and VAT filings
  • Research and interpret Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and Stamp Duty Act
  • Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring
  • Represent clients in IRD inquiries and tax appeals
  • Prepare transfer pricing documentation for multinational clients
  • Keep clients updated on Finance Act amendments and new IRD rulings

Professional advisory environment at Big 4 or boutique tax firm. Client-facing role with regular presentations. Hybrid work increasingly common outside deadline periods.
