A Day in the Life
PC Hardware Technicians install, configure, and maintain computer hardware in corporate environments — setting up workstations, replacing components, managing hardware inventory, and handling hardware-related IT support requests.
- Install and configure desktop and laptop computers for staff
- Replace faulty hardware components (RAM, HDD, screens)
- Maintain hardware asset inventory and track replacements
- Provide hardware-level IT support to employees
- Image and deploy computers using deployment tools
- Coordinate hardware warranty claims with vendors
- Dispose of end-of-life equipment following e-waste procedures
Work Environment
Corporate IT department. Combination of helpdesk, storage room, and end-user desk visits. Service-oriented environment.
