A Day in the Life
Network Technicians install, configure, and maintain network cabling and equipment — handling physical installation of switches, routers, and structured cabling for offices and data centres, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Install structured cabling (Cat6/fibre) in offices and data centres
- Configure network switches and routers
- Test cable runs with cable testers
- Mount and connect network equipment in racks
- Troubleshoot physical layer network issues
- Label cables and maintain documentation
- Liaise with electricians and building contractors for installations
Work Environment
