About This Role

A Day in the Life

Develop and advise on heritage tourism programs — designing experiences that connect visitors with Sri Lanka's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient kingdoms, colonial history, and living cultural traditions.

  • Research and document heritage tourism resources (archaeological sites, colonial buildings, living traditions)
  • Design cultural heritage tour programs and interpretation frameworks
  • Liaise with Central Cultural Fund, Department of Archaeology, and UNESCO programs in SL
  • Develop heritage site visitor management plans to balance access and conservation
  • Advise hotels, DMCs, and government on heritage tourism product development
  • Create educational interpretation materials for visitor centers and sites
  • Evaluate heritage tourism impact on authenticity and community
  • Present heritage programs to SLTDA, funders, and development organizations

Office research and field visits to heritage sites across Sri Lanka — Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Galle Fort, Dambulla. Consulting and advisory role combining academic knowledge with tourism application. Cultural and archaeological sensitivity required.
