About This Role
Integrates energy-efficient HVAC, lighting, and sustainable materials into modern building designs.
A Day in the Life
Green Building Engineers design and certify sustainable buildings — optimising energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor air quality while guiding projects through LEED/GREEN MARK certification.
- Conduct energy modelling and simulation studies
- Review architectural drawings for sustainability compliance
- Advise on green material specifications
- Prepare LEED/GREEN MARK documentation
- Coordinate with MEP engineers on efficient systems
- Conduct building performance commissioning
- Monitor building operations for energy targets
Work Environment
Engineering consultancy or developer organisation. Mix of office design work and site visits. Collaborative with architects and MEP teams.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
Good WLB. Certification submission deadlines can be intense.
