About This Role
Assess, diagnose, and support students with learning disabilities, developmental differences, behavioural challenges, and emotional difficulties that affect their educational performance. A Day in the Life
An Educational Psychologist assesses students with learning difficulties through standardised psychological tests, interviews parents and teachers, develops individual education plans (IEPs), consults with school management on special educational needs (SEN) policies, and provides therapeutic interventions. The role bridges clinical psychology and the school environment.
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments for learning difficulties (dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum)
- Administer and interpret standardised psychological assessment tools
- Write detailed psychoeducational reports for schools and parents
- Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers
- Provide therapeutic interventions for emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Consult with school management on SEN policy and inclusive education
- Conduct parent consultation sessions on child support strategies
- Liaise with paediatricians, psychiatrists, and other professionals
