About This Role
Lead an entire faculty (e.g., Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine) within a Sri Lankan university. Oversee all academic departments, manage faculty-wide budget and resources, drive academic quality, represent the faculty at senate level, and build strategic partnerships with industry and government.
A Day in the Life
A Dean of Faculty leads a complex academic organisation — managing multiple department heads, overseeing hundreds of academic staff, and setting the strategic direction for thousands of students. Days involve senate meetings, industry partner engagements, budget reviews, accreditation preparations, and representing the faculty in national academic governance bodies.
- Chair faculty board and coordinate heads of departments
- Oversee faculty-wide academic quality and accreditation compliance
