A Day in the Life
Execute cruise ship port call operations — coordinating shore transfers, excursion logistics, and passenger services during cruise ship visits to Sri Lankan ports.
- Meet and coordinate cruise ship arrival at Colombo or Hambantota port
- Manage transfer logistics — buses, tuk-tuks, coaches for shore excursion groups
- Escort and coordinate shore excursion groups during day trips
- Handle passenger queries, complaints, and emergency situations on port days
- Coordinate with guides, drivers, and attraction operators for smooth excursion flow
- Complete ship call reports and passenger count records
- Prepare excursion briefings and documentation packages for cruise passengers
- Assist cruise line officers with port logistics and ground operator coordination
Work Environment
Colombo Port cruise terminal, shore excursion sites (Colombo city, Pinnawala, Negombo, Galle for Hambantota calls), and ground transport environment. Active, variable schedule tied to ship call days.
Typical hours: 50h/week · WLB score 5/10 · COMMON overtime
