About This Role
Design and deliver training and development programmes for employees across companies in Sri Lanka. Conduct needs assessments, develop training content for soft skills (leadership, communication, customer service) and technical skills, facilitate workshops and seminars, and evaluate training effectiveness against business outcomes.
A Day in the Life
A Corporate Trainer spends their day designing training programmes, facilitating workshops for employee groups, conducting coaching sessions with individual managers, and evaluating the impact of training on business performance. The role combines content design, people facilitation, and business consulting.
- Facilitate training workshops on leadership, communication, and soft skills
- Design training content, slide decks, and interactive learning activities
- Conduct training needs assessments with HR and business leaders
- Deliver onboarding programmes for new employee batches
- Coach individual managers on leadership development
- Evaluate post-training impact on performance metrics
- Develop e-learning modules and digital learning content
- Manage training calendar, logistics, and participant communication
Work Environment
Corporate training rooms, hotel conference facilities, or virtual Zoom classrooms. Training may be conducted at client offices across Colombo. Independent consultants travel to multiple client locations weekly. The environment is professional and presentation-focused.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
Training delivery days can be intense (8-hour facilitation is physically demanding), but preparation days are more flexible. Independent consultants have high schedule autonomy. Corporate training managers may have heavy event coordination periods.
