About This Role
Fully qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL). Signs off on statutory audits, prepares complex financial statements, and provides advisory services. Works at Big 4 (KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, EY), mid-tier firms (BDO, Grant Thornton, PKF, SJMS), or corporate finance departments. One of Sri Lanka's highest-paid and most respected professional designations.
A Day in the Life
Lead audit engagements, prepare financial statements, provide tax advisory, and offer strategic financial advice to corporate clients as a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/FCA) of CA Sri Lanka.
- Lead or manage statutory audit engagements for public companies and large corporates
- Sign off audit opinions under SLAUDS (Sri Lanka Auditing Standards)
- Advise clients on SLFRS and LKAS financial reporting compliance
- Provide tax planning advice on income tax, VAT, and withholding tax
- Prepare and review complex financial statements for listing or regulatory purposes
- Manage client relationships and develop new business for the firm
- Mentor and supervise junior audit staff and trainees
Work Environment
Audit firm offices in Colombo with regular client site visits. Senior roles include significant client relationship management and business development alongside technical work.
Typical hours: 50h/week · WLB score 5/10 · COMMON overtime
Better than training years but audit managers still face busy seasons. Industry CFO roles typically have better work-life balance than practice.
