Identifies business problems and designs IT solutions to improve organizational efficiency and processes.

A Day in the Life

Bridges the gap between business requirements and IT solutions. Analyses existing business processes, identifies inefficiencies, and works with developers to design IT solutions. A critical role in Sri Lanka's enterprise software sector.

  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders
  • Analyse current systems and processes for improvement opportunities
  • Create functional specifications and user stories
  • Work with developers to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Prepare training materials and conduct user training
  • Create business process diagrams and flowcharts

Work Environment

Mostly office-based with client visits. Works across IT and business departments. Common in banks, telecom companies, and enterprise software firms in Colombo.
