Automation Engineers are the silent heroes of modern manufacturing. In Sri Lanka, as factories modernise, your skills will be the difference between a factory running at 60% or 100% efficiency. For those who love machines and want to see immediate, tangible results from their work, this career delivers like few others.

About This Role

Designs, programs, and maintains automated systems using PLCs and SCADA to optimize factory operations.

A Day in the Life

Designs and maintains automated systems in manufacturing and industrial settings. In Sri Lanka, works mainly in free trade zone factories, BOI industrial parks, and utility companies, programming PLCs and SCADA systems to optimise production lines.

  • Program PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems
  • Monitor and maintain SCADA dashboards
  • Diagnose faults in automated production lines
  • Document automation systems and write SOPs
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers on system integration
  • Conduct safety audits of automated equipment
