About This Role
Designs and optimizes WiFi and cellular networks.
A Day in the Life
Plan, deploy, and maintain enterprise and carrier wireless networks, managing Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring coverage, and optimising wireless performance.
- Plan and deploy enterprise Wi-Fi networks
- Configure Cisco, Aruba, or Meraki wireless controllers
- Monitor wireless network performance and client experience
- Troubleshoot connectivity and roaming issues
- Manage wireless security policies (WPA3, 802.1X)
- Conduct Wi-Fi surveys for new deployments
- Upgrade wireless infrastructure to Wi-Fi 6/6E
- Integrate wireless with wired network infrastructure
Work Environment
Enterprise networking environment with both planned project work and reactive support. Mix of office configuration and occasional field surveys.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
Generally good balance. Wireless outages require urgent response.
