A Day in the Life

Plan, deploy, and maintain enterprise and carrier wireless networks, managing Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring coverage, and optimising wireless performance.

  • Plan and deploy enterprise Wi-Fi networks
  • Configure Cisco, Aruba, or Meraki wireless controllers
  • Monitor wireless network performance and client experience
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and roaming issues
  • Manage wireless security policies (WPA3, 802.1X)
  • Conduct Wi-Fi surveys for new deployments
  • Upgrade wireless infrastructure to Wi-Fi 6/6E
  • Integrate wireless with wired network infrastructure

Work Environment

HYBRIDTeam: SMALLBUSINESS CASUALRemote: MEDIUM

Enterprise networking environment with both planned project work and reactive support. Mix of office configuration and occasional field surveys.

Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime

Generally good balance. Wireless outages require urgent response.
