A Day in the Life
Analyze supply chain performance and economics for Sri Lankan businesses, focusing on cost optimization, demand forecasting, and supplier evaluation using quantitative economic analysis tools.
- Analyze procurement costs, supplier pricing, and total landed cost of goods
- Build demand forecasting models using historical sales data and economic indicators
- Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery metrics
- Conduct economic analysis of make-vs-buy and outsourcing decisions
- Identify supply chain inefficiencies and quantify cost savings opportunities
- Monitor commodity price trends (oil, metals, cotton for apparel sector)
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses for supply chain technology investments
Work Environment
Analytical role within supply chain, procurement, or operations department. Primarily office-based with occasional supplier site visits. Heavy data analysis work in Excel and ERP systems. Reports to Supply Chain Director or CFO.
