A Day in the Life
Standards Officers at SLSI (Sri Lanka Standards Institution) develop national standards, conduct product certification testing, audit companies against standards, and promote standardisation across Sri Lankan industry and export sectors.
- Develop and revise national standards (SLS) for product categories
- Conduct product testing and certification against SLS/ISO standards
- Perform audits of manufacturing companies for standards compliance
- Review imported goods for standards compliance
- Engage with international standards bodies (ISO, IEC)
- Prepare technical documentation for standards committees
- Advise industry on standards requirements for export
Work Environment
Government institution (SLSI) office or testing laboratory. Professional, process-driven environment. Mix of technical, regulatory, and industry liaison work.
