A Smart Building Specialist spends their day designing, implementing, and managing integrated smart technologies within buildings. This involves configuring IoT devices, programming building management systems (BMS), troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring optimal performance for energy efficiency, security, and occupant comfort. They often collaborate with architects, engineers, and IT teams.
- Design and plan smart building systems based on client requirements (e.g., lighting, HVAC, security)
- Configure and integrate IoT devices and sensors (e.g., motion sensors, smart thermostats)
- Program Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation logic
- Install and commission smart building hardware and software components
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of integrated systems
- Monitor system performance and optimize settings for energy efficiency and comfort
