The self-employed craftsman is the artisan of Sri Lanka's construction and design sector — someone who has turned a trade into an art form and built a business around it. It is one of the most personally fulfilling career paths available, offering creative autonomy, tangible results, and the deep satisfaction of mastery. The honest challenge is the business reality: income fluctuates, clients can be demanding, and building a sustainable pipeline takes years. Those who persist and build their portfolio become the most sought-after craftsmen in their discipline.”
