A Day in the Life
Manage the full lifecycle of MICE events — winning business, designing programs, coordinating all logistics, and delivering exceptional experiences for corporate meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
- Develop MICE business proposals and destination presentations for corporate prospects
- Design incentive travel programs including activities, dining, accommodation, and themes
- Manage conference logistics (venue, AV, catering, delegate registration, speakers)
- Coordinate exhibition floor plans and exhibitor logistics
- Supervise on-site MICE event delivery from setup to closing ceremony
- Manage post-event reporting and client ROI measurement
- Attend MICE trade shows (IMEX Frankfurt, IBTM World, Arabian Travel Market MICE)
- Build relationships with corporate event buyers, PCOs, and incentive houses
Work Environment
Hotel MICE departments and DMC MICE divisions. Mix of Colombo office, conference venues across SL, and international trade shows. Multi-stakeholder, high-value business events environment requiring consistent professionalism.
Typical hours: 55h/week · WLB score 5/10 · COMMON overtime
MICE events are intensive and demanding. International trade show travel adds to schedule. Senior roles develop better boundaries over time.
