A Laboratory Manager oversees the entire operation of a laboratory, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance. This includes managing staff, budgets, equipment, quality control, and safety protocols. They are responsible for the overall smooth functioning and strategic direction of the lab.

  • Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and manage the laboratory budget, ensuring cost-effective operations
  • Oversee quality control and assurance programs, ensuring accurate and reliable results
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189, CAP), and institutional policies
  • Manage procurement and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all lab processes
