A Day in the Life

IoT Network Administrators manage the connectivity layer of IoT ecosystems — configuring and monitoring device networks, troubleshooting connectivity failures, managing firmware, and ensuring secure data flows from sensors to cloud platforms.

  • Monitor IoT device connectivity dashboards for anomalies
  • Configure MQTT brokers, gateways, and edge computing nodes
  • Troubleshoot connectivity failures in IoT sensor networks
  • Manage firmware updates and OTA (over-the-air) deployments
  • Implement network security for IoT devices (segmentation, encryption)
  • Integrate IoT platforms with cloud services (AWS IoT, Azure IoT)
  • Document network topologies and device inventories
