About This Role
Securing the physical and virtual hardware and servers of an organization.
A Day in the Life
Design, implement, and maintain security controls across network and server infrastructure, ensuring the organisation's systems are hardened against threats.
- Implement and manage firewall policies and rules
- Harden server and network infrastructure
- Monitor infrastructure for security events
- Manage VPN, IDS/IPS, and NAC systems
- Conduct infrastructure vulnerability assessments
- Respond to infrastructure security incidents
- Develop and update security baselines
- Coordinate with network and cloud teams on security architecture
Work Environment
Technical security environment focused on defensive infrastructure protection. Works closely with network engineers and system administrators.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 6/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
On-call for critical infrastructure security events. Generally predictable otherwise.
