An Illustrator/Storyboard Artist's day is focused on translating scripts and concepts into visual sequences. They might start by breaking down a script, then sketch out key scenes and character actions, refine panels for clarity and flow, and finally present their storyboards to directors or clients. The work is fast-paced, collaborative, and crucial for pre-visualization in film, animation, and advertising.
- Read and interpret scripts, screenplays, or advertising briefs to understand narrative and visual requirements.
- Sketch quick thumbnails and rough layouts to explore visual compositions and camera angles.
- Create detailed storyboards, illustrating key scenes, character expressions, and actions.
- Ensure visual continuity and narrative flow between panels.
- Collaborate with directors, animators, and creative teams to align on artistic vision.
- Incorporate feedback and revise storyboards as needed.
- Manage multiple projects and meet tight production deadlines.
- Develop character poses and environmental layouts for specific scenes.
Work Environment
